Score one for the animals!!!

Researchers from PETA, the University of Alabama-Birmingham and Manhattanville College collected data announcing that the general public's opposition towards animal testing is growing.

And growing by leaps and bounds in young adults!

The data showed that 43 percent of the adult population are opposed to animal testing in 2011, a 10 percent increase from 2010. The biggest increase included a 25 percent bump in adults 18-29, with 59 percent opposed to the practice.

Sadly, every other age group showed modest growth.

Study co-author and PETA associate director Justin Goodman stated the following on the trend:

This study clearly shows public opinion turning against cutting up, poisoning, and killing animals in experiments

When nearly half of all those polled morally oppose animal testing, it's time for a serious re-evaluation of how public funds are spent in our nation's laboratories.

So, will this new data save the world's animals from cruel lab testing???

We hope so!
