American Student Placed Into Medical Coma After Chimp Attack

So sad….
As previously reported, an American tour guide suffered a gruesome attack at the Jane Goodall Institute in South Africa.
Now, after six hours of surgery, he has been placed into a medically induced coma.
Andrew Oberle, a 26 year old Univ. of Texas-San Antonio student, is in severe condition after the chimp attack but there are conflicting reports on his injuries.
His sister, Elizabeth Sosa says he lost all his toes, both ears and an arm. His uncle, Carl Oberle, says both limbs are "ripped up."
Witnesses state that Oberle climbs into the "No-Go Zone" where a chimp grabbed his foot and dragged him across the rocks for about 100 feet.
An investigation in the matter found that the chimps acted in a self-defense manner and they will not be euthanized.
The medical staff will wait until he wakes before performing more surgeries.
