When an Idaho forest fire finally died down, the first firefighters on the scene saw something in the trees.
A baby black bear, orphaned in the fire, had managed to climb to safety, but not before being badly burned on all four of its paws!
Ch-ch-check out the video (above) to learn the whole story of the bear rescuers took to calling Boo Boo.
So will the poor little guy be alright? Idaho Humane Society Director Dr. Jeff Rosenthal says:
“He’s healing nicely. His pads and toes are no longer bleeding and new skin is already forming on the burned portions.”
We're glad to hear the little guy is feeling better, but this could have been avoided entirely. People still don't understand how their carelessness can cause out-of-control forest fires- and what those fires can do to the innocent creatures who inhabit it.
Boise Nation Forest's Syd Weiland says:
"When they see Boo Boo, they can see what can happen when fire gets out of control. Having Boo Boo, having Smokey Bear, is a really good reminder to always be careful with fire."
So remember, fire isn't just something that hurts trees. It can injure adorable little animals too! Or worse!
GoDaddy has pulled an ad from the big game after a number of critics complained about the fact that the commercial seems to be OK with people who have puppy mills and support other "inhumane breeding" practices.
The short commercial featured a lost puppy finding its way home only to discover its owner sold the pup on a GoDaddy website.
