Get ready, NYC! Katherine Heigl and PBS are bringing pets to the center stage!
The actress is set to host the NYC premiere of PBS' newest documentary, Shelter Me. The doc will focus on the positive impacts adopted pets have on their new families.
The doc is VERY diverse. The audience will visit a Southern California women's prison where inmates train shelter dogs to be service dogs and service dogs who stick behind soldiers with PTSD.
As a huge animal lover, I was immediately drawn to this project because it advocates for the homeless pets at our local shelters.
It’s important to generate awareness and overcome stigmas about these local facilities as well as promote these amazing animals and how they improve people’s lives.
Shelter Me premieres Sunday October 21 at 10PM EST!
