Worldwide meat production and consumption are still generally on the rise…but drought and disease in 2011 have really slowed it down.
The big drought in the midwest has really slowed down growth, but so has the rising cost of livestock feed.
There are all sorts of figures going up and down at the same time, but in general, things aren't all that great.
Meat consumption worldwide went down from 93.7 pounds per person in 2010 to 93.3 pounds.
Though per capita consumption has gone up 15% since 1995.
Interesting fact, pork was the most popular meat in 2011, having made up 37% of meat production and consumption.
Maybe more people will start going vegetarian!
That could solve the problem!
