Halloween is only a day away and we've got to get our cosutmes NOW!!!!
But when shopping for our pets, how can we make sure our cats and dogs are taken care of?
Don't Force It
When buying a costume, your pet will react in one of two ways. He or she will either love the attention or they will HATE to costume.
If you pet doesn't like their get-up, then don't force them to wear it. Get a quick photo op and let them do their thing.
Practice walking in your costume.
Let your pet get used to the feel of their costume as well as seeing you in a costume. Do NOT cut off their vision or mobility and make sure your leash and collar fit comfortably.
Also, make your pet is familiar with basic commands like "sit" "stay" and "leave it." Award them with treats to make sure they know how to behave when trick of treating.
Monitor your Pet
Making sure your pet's ID tags are up-to-date is essential because even the most well behaved pet can get spooked.
Also, if your pet is hyperactive, keep them away from the door. While some can wait patiently as kids appear for treats, others like to dash. Keeping your dasher occupied is key.
Lastly, when treats (especially chocolate) become involved, making sure your pooch doesn't get into your candies will dog a loooong way!
Follow these tips and your pet can enjoy All Hallow's Eve just like you!
