Sad….it might just be best to LEAVE ANIMALS OUT OF FILMS!

The animal wranglers employed by The Hobbit trilogy's production company state that the company is responsible for 27 animal deaths.

The workers claim that their animals were kept on a farm full of death traps, including sinkholes, bluffs and more and that the production company should be held responsible.

One worker says he buried three horses, as well as about six goats, six sheep and a dozen chickens.

The American Humane Society is overseeing the animal welfare and they state that while no animals died on set, the deaths draw a bull's eye on their lack of oversight system, especially when it comes to animals off set.

PETA also plans on getting into the mix, protesting the New Zealand, U.S. and U.K. premieres.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will premiere in New Zealand November 28 and in December around the world.
