Former NBA player John Salley is trying to break the stigma of being vegan.
He may be retired, but he's still an athlete at heart and eats 4,000 to 5,000 calories a day.
But still stays vegan!!
"The biggest misconception is that it’s like a political statement. It’s not; it’s just people who are conscious of what goes in their body and what happens in their environment at the same time. Also, for me, it’s hard to not be an animal advocate."
So he's just a normal guy who happens to be very conscious about what he puts into his body.
He still exercises, leading an active lifestyle and also eats good food too.
He just happens to be vegan.
A normal day of eating for him is:
"In the morning, I eat organic grits … and I have ginger tea with coconut oil. I eat a lot of kale, and I drink about half a gallon to a gallon of water a day. At night, I’ll make pizza with almond cheese and different vegetables and seasonings; I put turmeric on everything."
That actually sounds pretty good!
Though we're sure a burger every now and again wouldn't kill you!
