Immortality is something that seems completely inaccessible, but recent studies show that one sea creature, Turritopsis Dohrnii, has already revealed how to live forever!!
The entity, which is better known as the Immortal Jellyfish, was found on the ocean floor in 1988 by a German marine-biology student, Christian Sommer while he was snorkeling off the cliffs of Portofino.
Molecular paleobiologist, Kevin J. Peterson expressed that "there’s a shocking amount of genetic similarity between jellyfish and human beings," adding:
“Immortality might be much more common than we think. There are sponges out there that we know have been there for decades. Sea-urchin larvae are able to regenerate and continuously give rise to new adults. This might be a general feature of these animals. They never really die.”
As of now, Japanese scientist Shin Kubota is frequently studying the creature, which reverses its aging process by turning back into a Polyp.
However, despite the research and progress that has been made, scientists still have NO clue how the organism reverses its age.
Well, it looks like scientists are just gonna have to keep on trying to figure out how we can live FOREVER!!
But until then, check out the cool creature (above)!
