Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? Your dog, he's freezing!!!! LOLz!
So what can we do to protect our pups from becoming doggie icicles????
Do you have an outdoor dog? Then protecting his house is key.
Make sure your dog's house is elevated, dry, and properly insulated so wind doesn't make Fido cold. Adding a doggie door to the garage or another warm area also gives your pet another place of comfort.
Use plastic bowls instead of metal and make sure their water isn't frozen and stock up on food as outdoor dogs need more calories to stay warm.
All dogs lose some power in their noses, so making sure your pet is close by and under control is the main issue.
In vice versa to outdoor dogs, indoors dogs are less active and retain weight in the winter, so watch your pet's diet.
If you're using a space heater, make sure it is out of reach and protected. Also check for frostbite.
Believe or not, cats love to hide. So when leaving your home. Always check to see where your kitty is.
Especially when driving your car. Cats like to hide under the hood so bang on it or honk the horn and your cat should take off to safety.
Making sure your pet is safe and sound will keep them happy in the snow!
