Yellowstone National Park does NOT allow wolf hunting on its grounds, but unfortunately, when a wolf strays from the park's premises, hunting is all fair game.
"The Most Famous Wolf in the World," which belonged to the Lamar Canyon pack, stepped outside of Yellowstone's floors recently and was legally SHOT DOWN by a hunter.
“Alpha Female 832F, despite her age, or maybe because of it, is a consummate professional at what she does — which is to protect and guide the Lamar Canyon Pack from one generation to the next in a land wild and unforgiving. Crafty and courageous, 832F has a dedicated cadre of enthusiasts who faithfully chronicle her every move, such as they can."
The wolf was tagged with a $4,000 GPS radio collar following her birth in 2006, which made her one of the most researched animals in the pack.
And now, with only 80 wolfs left from the Lamar Canyon pack, it's EXTREMELY sad to hear that she was killed!
Hopefully no more of these GAWRGEOUS animals try to escape Yellowstone and end up like like 832F!! We wouldn't want to hear another TRAGIC story!
