This sport may be a new trend, but would you believe it if we told you skijoring has been around for hundreds of years?!?!?
In Scandinavia, Laplanders traveled by skiis, being pulled by reindeer as they Santa'd to and fro.
It became an equestrian event when it came to North America in 1950, where skiers used horses. Now skijoring is exploding in popularity as skiers are using a team of dogs to pull them.
The skiers, while being pulled by their partners, must go through an obstacle course and pick up rings with a joustlike stick!
Pointers, German pointers, and sled dogs are usually the preferred pooch, and skiers can have one to three dogs pulling them at a time!
This sounds like some UBER dog fun!!!! Catch you at the slopes!
