Yay!!!! These bears get a chance to taste the sweet juices of justice!
Earlier this month, we told you about PETA's exposé on the cruelty, racism, and downright godawful abuse happening at the Chief Saunooke Bear Park in North Carolina.
Now, it's time for the sick and sad place to pay the piper!
The US Department of Agriculture has suspended the park's exhibitor license and smacked the owners with a $20,000 fine, along with charging the park dozens of violations.
And PETA commends the government for stepping and they want more to be done.
PETA Foundation Director of Captive Animal Law Enforcement Delcianna Winders says the following:
Suspending Chief Saunooke Bear Park's license and slapping it with a fine is a good step—and the next one should be to close down this lawbreaking and abusive exhibitor completely.
PETA stands by to help the park transfer these neglected animals to a reputable sanctuary where they'll have the veterinary care, food, and other essentials that they have been denied for years.
Take another peek (above) at PETA's expose (with Bob Barker) to learn why these actions have been taken.
