Umm, this runner DEFINITELY deserves a good medal!
In your insane animal story of the week, marathon runner Karren Williams survived an epic bear attack during a race in New Mexico.
According to Karren, who posted her crazy tale to Facebook on Sunday, she was about twenty-four miles into the race when an aggressive bear charged her. Apparently K.W. was at a point in the event that took participants on an "off-trail" and "uphill" stretch.
Unfortunately for Williams, the momma bear "raked" her with its claws in addition to biting her neck. The graphic and painful assault lasted until the animal got distracted by her cub that had gotten itself stuck in a tree.
