Swimmer Mauled To Death By Great White Shark In Front Of Hundreds!

Shark

This is so so sad!!

Adam Strange, a 46-year-old filmmaker and father-of-one was killed when he was attacked by a Great White off the coast of New Zealand.

Auckland's Muriwai Beach is a popular tourist spot and was crowded on the day that a huge shark pulled Adam under water.

He was swimming in the ocean when a large shark suddenly attacked him.

All the blood in the water lead to three other sharks coming over and joining in on the attack.

Police were called and went out on boats and even a helicopter to try and shoot the sharks who were currently attacking Adam.

A man fishing on some rocks only 50 yards away saw the whole thing, saying:

"He was still alive. He put his head up. We called him to swim over the rock to where we were. He raised his hand up and then while he was rising his hand up we saw another attack and pull him in the water. He came back up. His head was on the water… then we notice he was already dead."

It has been estimated that only about 12 to 14 people have been killed by sharks in New Zealand since the 1830s when they started keeping records.

So this is a freak and tragic occurrence.

His family is in our thoughts and hearts.

Im from NZ, and first heard it over the radio, but the reports kept changing until it was finally confirmed that It was only one shark not a few and the shark has been reportedly shot dead but its body has not been found, all connecting beaches have been closed for the next few days,

and yet humans kill around 70 million sharks a year. Sharks live in the ocean, they are carniviores, you swim in the ocean, you're going into their home…..you run the risk of being eaten or attacked. Its not personal, its nature. I mean mother of god…humans are not the only animal who lives on this planet.

Re: a – Agree. How hard would it be to shark proof some public beaches? They blow billions on far less. A lot of professional resorts do it.
