When Paul Marinaccio was a young boy living in Italy, he was once chased by an angry man who was holding several bullfrogs.
A random, terrifying encounter, and enough to leave him scarred for life.
So when developers of a subdivision near his house in upstate New York began draining water onto his property he was in for a real bad time.
Because it was the perfect breeding ground for frogs!
The frogs would swarm his driveway and lawn, forcing him to be a prisoner in his own home.
So he sued the Town of Clarence and the developer in a seven year, $300,000 lawsuit.
"You people don't understand. I am petrified. I go home at night, and I can't get in my garage because of the frogs. They're right in front of the damn door, OK? In the winter, it's OK, because I know there's no frogs. But in the summertime, I mean I'm a damn prisoner in my own home."
We guess there were some sympathetic people or fellow frog-phobics on the jury because he was awarded $1.6 million!!
"They looked at me like I was some dumb Italian, with no education, and could just roll over me. They never thought I was going to win the case. You should have seen their faces the day of the verdict."
That's amazing! We're so glad he won!
Just shows you can't push around the little guy!
Unless you're holding a bunch of frogs! LOLz!
