This sounds like something out of a horror story but it's true…
In Central Park in NYC, snakehead fish sightings have been on the rise near Harlem Meer.
The snakehead is a total monster because they can grow to three feet long, have big, sharp teeth and can survive outside of water for days!!
Yup! That means you aren't safe anywhere!
The New York Department of Environmental Conservation issued a statement that literally said:
"If you catch one, DO NOT RELEASE it. Kill it immediately, freeze it and report your catch. Take a digital photo if possible."
Wow!! So they actually issued an order to kill these fish on site!
It's mainly because they're an invasive species, not native to North America, that could seriously disrupt recreational and commercial fishing.
So don't let this fish ruin our economy or fuel our nightmares!!
