California Jogger Mauled To Death By Pit Bulls!!

| Filed under: Sad SadAttack!DogPit Bull

Pit Bull

This is just awful!!

A woman was jogging through a neighborhood in Littlerock, California, just trying to get some exercise and extend her life.

Well in a tragic turn of events, that life was cut short when she was ATTACKED by a pack of dogs.

The pit bulls and mixed breeds were apparently known to be aggressive and have been found and taken from their home.

A police spokesman said:

"We had information from animal control and people [who] live in the area that dogs here match the description of the dogs that attacked. We had complaints before about these dogs being aggressive."

A cop had arrived on the scene when the woman was still being attacked.

The dog charged the officer, who drew his gun and fired. The dog escaped.

Sadly, the woman died in an ambulance.

The dogs' owner, a 29-year-old, was also busted for growing marijuana.

The police spokesman said he could face anything from no charges at all, all the way up to murder.

That poor woman and her family are in our hearts and thoughts.

As an owner of a pit bull / lab mix, I resent the chosen image for this post. Pit bulls are an increasingly popular breed so I know I'm not the only one either. These kind of images promote the idea that pit bulls are dangerous dogs. They are like any other dog, they represent their owner. They score much better on temperment testing than many other popular breeds. I'd also like to add that this story is not complete. At least 8 dogs were taken from a home, they were NOT even all pit bulls, other assorted mix breeds as well. Please remove or fix the story? I'd hate to leave the page right after I hear about it.

Re: Amy Seidler – I hear ya. I have quite a bit of friends who own pitties, and they are nothing but love, cuddles and kisses. cause they treat them well. it is the douche bags who train them to be aggressive fighting dogs who make the whole breed have a bad name. it really needs to be put as a stop.

I hear you and agree. Where is this sensational journalism going. Any dog no matter what the breed can have agreeive traits. You are right. IT is a reflection of the onwner rather than the breed. I had a chow for 14 years, another breed they always depict as agreevise. She was a little doll and never even snapped at anybody. Many years ago the pit bull breed was known as the Nanny Dog because people used the dog to confort and guared their childen. Something terrible has happen to their image the last 10 to 15 years.

Like everybody else who has posted, I think this is a terrible chosen image for this post. I personally have not owned a pitbull, but have friends who do. Temperment comes from the owner. "In the 70's, they blamed Dobermans. In the 80's, they blamed German Shepherds. In the 90's, they blamed the Rottweiler. Now, they blame the Pit Bull." -Cesar Milan. What about the owners who make them that way? Unfortunately, people who abuse these animals and raise them to be aggressive rarely get punished.

How dare you use this image- I bet if a labrador attacked a human you would use an image of a puppy- it's people like you who give beautiful breeds like pitbulls a bad name!
Shame on you!! Remember, dogs are never born bad, it's always the owners!
