Veterinary technician Carmen Bernard found a Siamese kitten on the road - its legs were all twisted up and later she found out it was blind.
Because of its condition - the cat, who's been named Pretzel, found it very painful to walk and needed help just to manage.
When Carmen took Pretzel to the vet - the animal doctor gave Carmen two options. The first option was to put Pretzel to sleep, and the second option was to prepare for a lot of surgery.
The cat has developed quite a lot of Facebook fans on its page called The Little Kitty That Could.
Here's what the Carmen wrote recently on the Facebook page:
"Pretzel will be having her final operation to her remaining hind leg to reconstruct her knee joint so it will be able to support her body weight. They will put everything in the right places and secure it so there will be a permanent fix. This will be her LAST operation. The doctor said this procedure is much less risky than anything she had done to the other leg, more common and has an excellent prognosis."
The amount of fans feel a terribly strong connection with Pretzel and the trial and tribulations the kitty has gone through.
Here'a what Carmen said once:
"I have parents of children with disabilities say their kids are able to identify with the cat. That really brings a tear to my eye sometimes, when parents say how much they appreciate me sharing the cat with them to show those kids that they aren’t alone."
You're not alone, Carmen!
We have tears, as well!
Live strong, Pretzel, and good luck!!!
