Looks like we need a parent of the year award over here.
Abbey Carlson, 29, and stepfather Thomas Fishinger, 30, were driving down the Pennsylvania Turnpike just outside of Pittsburgh with their daughter when apparently their dog started crying like crazy from the back.
So being the "great parents" they are, they allowed their daughter to get into the cage in the bed of the pickup to be with the dog.
Luckily, other cars saw this, the cops were called and now the parents are facing charges because they didn't realize that putting their kid in a dog cage in the back of a truck was a bad idea.
We can understand caring about your dog, but risking your daughter's life so your dog doesn't cry seems a little crazy to us.
Thankfully, the little girl is currently staying with her grandmother.
We're so so so glad no one was seriously injured!!
Check out the video (above) to hear the parents try and explain themselves.
