Cute Bunny Chills Out During Relaxing Sink Bath

Omg… this is… it's just too much…

Our cuteness meter exploded two seconds into this video.

It's just a simple video of a cute bunny being given a sink bath.

Honestly, at first, we were thinking there was no way this video was real…

But then the bunny spun around and started moving!!

Ahh!! It's just so friggin' CUTE!!

Check out the video (above) of a cute bunny enjoying a relaxing spa day in a bathroom sink.

You should never give a bunny a bath! Giving a bunny a bath can send them into shock and possibly cause a severe reaction or even death. This bunny actually looks like she is shaking, sometimes bunnies freeze when they are in shock (hence being prey animals). There are so many videos on Youtube of bunnies swimming having baths etc and I know everyone rags on the bunny lover commenting how terrible it is to give a bunny a bath! But in all honesty it can be so traumatic and bunnies are such sensitive animals that their shock or fear can go undetected! Please never do this to your bunny!

Putting a rabbit on its back induces "tonic immobility", which means the rabbit is "playing dead." While people might teach their dogs to play dead as a fun trick, for a rabbit it's an extreme means of surviving an attack. When a rabbit has been caught by a predator, tonic immobility allows him to become limp and unresponsive. His blood pressure and respiration rate drop as well. This often convinces the predator that the rabbit is dead and gives him one last chance to escape.

Purposely inducing tonic immobility by laying a rabbit on his back can cause him serious stress. While he may appear relaxed during the trance-like state, afterward his heart and respiration rate is likely to be very high. A study led by Dr. Anne McBride of the University of Southampton found that rabbits show signs of extreme stress after an episode of tonic immobility. Another danger of placing a rabbit on his back is that he could break his back if he struggles against being turned over.

You can't do this!!! First, you never put a bunny on its back for extended time. Second, bunnies are very clean and don't need baths! Idiots!! Poor bunny…..

  4. Anguaw says – reply to this

As many have mentioned, the bunny is only lying still on its back in the bath because that's a natural response rabbits have to being put on their backs. Rabbits can go into a form of trance in this position, and the rabbit is not at all enjoying the bath or water. You can realized this once the rabbit comes out of the trance, turns over (dangerous in that he could have hurt his back) and tries to scramble out of the sink (also dangerous because he could have fallen from the sink). These are extremely irresponsible rabbit owners who have no idea that unless disabled and unable to clean themselves, rabbits should never be bathed. It's actually a video depicting animal cruelty and should be removed from this site immediately instead of praised as 'cute' or 'adorable'.

This video makes me sick. You're not supposed to wash bunnies. He looks absolutely terrified, it's so cruel. This video should be renamed or removed because it's not cute and it's not okay to do this.

Nooooooo!! You cant do this to a bunny! They should never be put on their back's. These people need to learn some basic pet care.

PLEASE TAKE THIS DOWN. That rabbit is traumatized and scared to death. It's in shock. That's why it's not moving except to shake. You should NEVER give a bunny a bath. Please do not give people the idea this is cute. There is too much animal cruelty in the world and people are SO misinformed where rabbits are concerned.

As the others have stated, this is a very bad thing! Please take this down! This is terribly dangerous for rabbits and not something that should be hailed as cute. I know you meant well, but as a house rabbit owner for over 20 years I can tell you that this is terrifying for the rabbit and could potentially cause serious issues. Not to mention scaring the rabbit into shock. Please, please take this video down!

Please take this down, this is actually animal abuse. You would never show a video of a dog being beaten or abused, this is the same thing.

  12. 12

Awe it is shaking, not cool!

  13. 13

Oh, my gosh, that Bunny is so cute! I read the comments here…had no idea it was bad for a Rabbit. :( Don't like it because of that, but wow, is that Bunny cute!

This video made me cry. It's terrible what they're doing to that poor animal. I own three rabbits and have raised eleven. Please don't EVER EVER EVER put a rabbit on its back or bathe it.

It looked dead for the first bit, it wasn't cute. You are showing animal cruelty. NOT COOL Perez

  16. Melissa Hering says – reply to this

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who came to say the same thing. It might look cute, but look at how he's shaking in fear. This isn't good for him, it's extremely dangerous.

  17. Cheri says – reply to this

While cute, rabbits should NEVER be given a full bath and gotten this wet. The chill can kill them. At most, the need an occasional butt bath. The rabbit was not relaxed. It was frozen in a trancelike state that happens when rabbits are put on their back. It can be quite traumatizing.

  23. 23

Um, the rabbit isn't chilling out. It's in a fear mode. Yet another ignorant post by Mario the Maggot.

  24. nes says – reply to this

Relaxed? Paralyzed with fear is more likely… rabbit, headlights, anyone?

  25. madla says – reply to this

Please, take the video down! The bunny is scared to death! This is his natural instinct to not move while he is in danger! Poor cutie! I beg you, stop it! This is animal cruelty, even if you dont realize it! So sad.

  26. kerry says – reply to this

this rabbit is not relaxed. Throughout the video, the rabbit is stiff as a board.
When rabbits are flipped onto their backs, they go into tonic immobility, which is a natural state of paralysis that rabbits and some other animals sink into. This is a protective, stress-induced behaviour that would protect them from potential threats, much like ‘playing dead’.
This is not a cute video of a rabbit enjoying a bath. This is a video of a rabbit showing stress-induced behaviourY

Re: manny – And in other places where people value other forms of life, it's viewed as cruelty.

So in China, where they let their little girls get hit by buses and watch them die as they walk over them, it's ok because it's China??? You're a dumbass.
Telling people to relax is condoning animal cruelty. I hope in your after life you come back as a bunny and the idiots that own you wash you everyday and film it while laughing.

  31. 31

I was wondering why so many people commented on this video. Aw, poor bunny. It looked so relaxed. But now I know better. The lady, though gentle, probably knows better now too with comments like these. I'm sure she didn't mean any harm. Just ignorance.

I CANNOT believe there are so many damned f—ing idiots in this world! My sister's late husband was a vet and she works at a vet clinic and this is INSANE! Are the people posting this video and doing this to the poor bunny inbred??? This is true ugliness and you Perez are an imbecile!
