Pit Bull Eats Owner's Toes While He's Sleeping!!

A diabetic man in Brazil, Indiana had his toes eaten by his dog while he was sleeping!!

He apparently was having a dream where his pet pit bull was licking his toes and when he woke up, his big toe and little toe were both gone!

What?!! That's like a horror story!!

The thing is, it's not exactly as awful as it sounds… hear us out.

The man had gangrene, which means his toes were basically dead already.

His dog must've smelled the infection and tried to save his owner by removing the toes. What a good dog…? LOLz!

The man was rushed to the hospital via medical helicopter.

Since he owns the dog, and it's a family pet, the cops aren't considering it a dog attack.

Check out the video (above) to learn a little more about exactly what went down.

This actually happens with more frequency with small dogs like Jack Russells. In each case I've heard about, the owner is diabetic or paralyzed, and so has no reaction when the dog starts nibbling, so its likely the dog also has no idea that the paralyzed limb is actually attached to the sleeping owner. Too bad you have to tag it with "pit bull" as if that has something to do with it. Where were you a few weeks ago when several people were nearly killed by black labs?

Please change the headline. Pit bulls have a bad enough name already and are in desperate need of homes. This one sounds like it was trying to help the owner.

Yes! Please change the title, Perez. We know you're just doing your job, but pit bull owners would really appreciate the change.

LOL why change the title? It was a PB that did it, why is that a secret? And how was the dog "helping" the owner?

…sigh.. another story about a 'vicious' pit bull and a false headline.. just to get attention. It shouldn't matter what breed of a dog the guy has. Any dog would do this. YOU are partially responsible for the thousands of pit bulls put down each day due to ignorance and sensationalized stories in the media. We need the media to HELP this breed, not hurt them. If this was a golden or a lab or a chihuahua or a bichon… I'm sure your headline would talk about how the dog was saving the man. Come on, Perez. I can deal with you putting down celebs all day.. but not innocent dogs. Do something to help the breed!

The dog is basically instinctually trying to save its owner. Schnauzers are known for being able to detect cancer from tissue samples and some have saved their owners by focusing on a spot and being relentless about it. Dogs remove their own problem spots, too, if they crop up, and this activity notifies owners that something needs looking at.
