A 5-year-old Jack Russell crossbreed named Salty is alive today thanks to a quick acting stranger.
The poor lil pupster was knocking on death's door after being hit by a car outside his home in Ballarat, Australia!
A man, Steve Hunter, found the doggy lying unconscious in the road and knew he had to act quickly, saying:
"He was completely gone, so I pulled his jaws apart, blew into his mouth and did CPR on the side of the road."
After feeling the dog had a heartbeat, he grabbed him and took him to a vet.
Salty has gotten an operation for some cuts on his head and his fractured pelvis and is expected to survive!! Woo!!
"I saw the owners had children, and I thought 'This is someone's pet. You have to at least try. You never know,' and this time it worked. He was pretty lucky."
That's incredible that it worked!
So glad that someone was there to save that little doggies life!
Way to go, Steve Hunter!!
