Remember the incredible story of Schoep the arthritic dog who saved his owner's life??
There was a photo of Schoep floating in Lake Superior, sleeping on his owner John Unger's chest, that went viral.
Schoep had once saved John from killing himself, and since then, the two have been absolutely inseparable.
We are heartbroken. We can't even believe how hurt John Unger must be.
To break the awful news, John posted a pic of a paw print in the sand on Facebook and wrote:
"I breathe but I can't catch my breath… Schoep passed yesterday. More information in the days ahead."
What's incredible is Schoep died shortly after celebrating his 20th birthday!!
That's crazzzzy! Most dogs don't live past 12-15!!
Schoep made an impact on John's life, and in the world, through the Schoep Legacy Foundation.
The foundation has raised over $25,000 to help low-income families care for their aging dogs.
That's incredible, we're so sad to see Schoep go, but glad he's left a legacy behind that can touch so many lives!
