PETA has seen Katy Perry's Roar and they did NOT like what they saw!
Earlier this month, the seksi singer released the official music video for her hit single, and it featured tons of animals from tigers to tarantulas to elephants as she makes her transformation into Jane Goodall!
However, PETA spokeswoman Merrilee Burke criticized the use of animal actors in the music video and said they are often forced to live in terrible conditions:
"Animals used for entertainment endure horrific cruelty and suffer from extreme confinement and violent training methods. They often become stressed and anxious when hauled around and forced into unfamiliar or frightening situations. The Serengeti Ranch, the animal exhibitor that we believe supplied the animals for the Roar video, has been inspected by the US Department of Agriculture 22 times since 2001."
If Katy's animals were kept as they claim, this is definitely an argument we can see both sides of.
Under no circumstances do we think it's OK to keep animals in poor living conditions that might cause them unnecessary stress.
However, we doubt Katy would knowingly agree to such conditions.
What do U think readers??
Do you think it's OK to use animals in music videos?
