Fire crews at Langwarrin in Melbourne, Australia got to save a tiny life recently.
Here's the story:
A koala was hit by a car and took refuge in a tree.
When they went to rescue the little critter...
The price certainly was right for Bob Barker when it came to saving three elephants.
The former Price Is Right host paid out of his own pocket (almost $1,000,000!) to move three elephants from a zoo in Canada to the Performing Animal Welfare Society's (PAWS) sanctuary in San Andreas, CA.
The elephants are now free to roam around their 2,000-acre reserve!
"I had a lump in my throat, I had tears in my eyes. I've discovered that the older I get, the easier I cry. The ones that were crying the most were those miserable zoo keepers in Toronto."
The best part about Bob, other than him being a wonderful, sensitive man, is that he plans to keep doing good!
"I had a job that I loved. I was very well paid for it, and now I'm spending my money. I intend to die broke."
That's absolutely amazing!! He's going to use all of his riches to help the world!
We need more people like Bob Barker! You're our hero, Bob!!
