Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson's Homophobia Hole Gets Deeper With The Help Of Race Remarks

duck dynasty homophobia racism

Oh COME ON!!

We are SO confused as to how anyone could believe anything like this, even one of the beloved (by many, but not all) guys on Duck Dynasty!

First, Phil Robertson was crystal clear to GQ on how he felt about homosexuality and the AMAZING people in that community, and who support that community (and how it's sinful and super wrong)… and now he's saying he's pretty sure black people were happy and just fine before the civil rights movement!!

We aren't joking. Seriously. Here's what he said about pre-civil-rights-era Louisiana:

"I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person. Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotten with them. I'm with the blacks, because we're white trash. They're singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, 'I tell you what: These doggone white people'—not a word!… Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues."

And that's just about enough internet for one day, folks. Someone should take this guy's national spotlight away!

We don't even know what to say! Someone bring back that story about those puffins that are rebounding! That's more our vibe!

Yea Duck Dynasty boys. Way to speak your minds. Perez, not everybody likes to have a dick in their ass or in their mouth. You are such a fucking hypocrite when it comes to peoples opinions and beliefs. Just because you like eating asshole like some fucking animal, the rest of us don't have to. Thanks Douchbag Perez!!!

Give me a break. Some people just don't believe in Homosexuality…
What is the big deal, and Shock. Let people have their own opinions.
You come across as very close-mined if you don't think people should express
their views and agree with you.
Wake up, Not everyone is a young gay man from Hollywood…

People who are shocked by what he believes in are also the people who get mad about Chic-fil-a and Hobby Lobby being closed on Sundays for religious beliefs. Some people were taught that it is wrong and against the Bible. It doesn't make them horrible people it just makes them people with different views than yours.

I'm black. I don't see any racism in Phil's remark. It may be easy to misinterpret it if you are really young and don't understand how people his age use certain terms to describe certain cultures and certain times, but I'm forty five years old. I understand what he is saying very well.

  5. 5

As usual, Perez is trying to make something out of nothing. All he said was he didn't see any black people being mistreated. And as far as him not agreeing with homosexuality, he's entitled to his own beliefs. Are we really getting to the point in our society that if someone believes something contrary to what the media wants, the thought police go after them?

  6. 6

ARE YOU SERIOUS PEREZ??? he didnt say anything at all wrong or disrespectful to or about black people! He just said that things before the civil rights movement era in Lousiana were fine and that he worked with black men! you are such an idiot! Get it together! His views should be respected, he didnt say that he hated gay people he just said that they are sinful but as a christian, he wouldnt turn them down, because that is not what the christian faith is about. You really need to do some thorough research. You actually call yourself a journalist?! Seriously you're the one that needs to loose axcess to the internet! You praise the slutty Kartrashians but are against the Robertsons because they dont support gay rights.

He has a right to his beliefs as well as his opinions. If you don't agree with them, thaen that's your right, just as it is his to not agree with your beliefs and opinions. Get a life!

  11. 11

Every time I come to this site now all I see if you shoving your opinions and beliefs down everyone else's throats. You are one of the biggest hypocrites I have ever seen. I am done with your website.

I wondered how long it would be before someone tried to say he was racist. The guy was asked a question and he answered it truthfully. He didn't say anything racist about anyone. Phil R. was trying to explain what it was like him growing up he even said he worked right along side black people as well as white people and that they were a happy group of people just working and having a job was enough to make anyone happy back in the day. Whites, blacks whatever they were all just happy to be working. This is getting ridiculous it appears that there r some who just want to hang this guy and try to make him look bad for what telling what he believes to be the truth? The best advise I could give anyone is that if u don't want to hear what Phil R. has to say then don't ask him.

Re: tacogirl – well i mostly agree with you, but you make such a valid point. PEREZ IS A HYPOCRITE. He also starts trouble. Lady GaGa and Christina Agulara had to do a performance on live television to prove that what he's saying is lies. I'm not a fan of the blog anymore.

  16. 16

you looking for hate where there isn't any.

  17. 17

I'm black and what he's saying is true. It's not offensive at all. Especially there in Louisiana, the blacks and the poorer white people did work together. My great grandparents and family originated in Louisiana. What he's saying is true.

The more I thought about this the more I realized it not about expressing an opinion but rather expressing a condemnation, which he backs up by quoting the Bible. The problem with this is that not everyone is moderate in mind or action and make those condemnations about power and that power gives them a right of superiority, or worse, condemnation. The sooner we stop bigotry in all forms the safer the world will be for everyone who is considered different by someone else.

Don't buy into this garbage. The media loves to build up people and then tear them down… this is all being used to divide us against each other. When we should all really just respect each others opinions and keep to ourselves.

you are making something out of nothing. You speak your mind, so can other people. There is nothing wrong with what he said… stop trying to brainwash people

there is absolutely nothing racist about saying that he personally never witnessed any kind of racial tension and that he was out there working just as hard. God Perez, just because YOU like it up that ass doesn't mean the world has to kiss your ass for it.

    24

Pre Civil War white men owned black people and did not think they were fully human. Pre Civil rights the same stupidity lived on in a lot of peoples minds. Nobody was happy with lynching and being treated like they were less than equal. It is not a matter of opinion, it is a matter of ignorance and stupidity. All people are created equally and being treated and abused was not something anyone ever gets use to. Hide behind your beliefs because God knows homophobes and racist are wrong. They will find something wrong with anyone because they live with hate and ignorance in their hearts. They need to knock others down in order to feel superior because they are closed minded, grew up with bigotry and are dumb as dirt.

That was Phil's experience. The fact that they were disenfranchised didn't occur to him, because he was in the cotton fields too so he was in the same position.

Re: Denise – Why don't you have your head surgically removed from that other gaping hole of yours? I'm referring to your ass. This isn't 1980 anymore. The fact that you have to come on a gay man's website to promote your own hatred of gay people doesn't mean that someone won't come along and put you in your place.. Back to that street corner.

This is a free Country, Freedom of Speech… If you disagree then don't watch the show.. I love Phil! and he has a right to his own opinion… He should not be suspended! And I'm sure the ratings are going to go up with all this crap on the news… Merry Christmas Phil!

I love looking at your site Perez but some of your views are borderline ridiculous and tittybabyish…
He said nothing wrong. He was asked a question and he answered it. He was being honest. Would you rather he lied? he would have been slammed for that also.
You're basically judging him based on his own personal opinion.
Isn't passing judgement exactly what you're slamming him for in the first place?
    Hypocrite much?
I will continue to support Phil Robertson and i dont stand alone. Because in a world of good vs evil… Good will always win.

"someone should take this guy's national spotlight away!" Pot meet kettle.

  36. Crimeo says – reply to this

    36

Yes, he has a right to hold his beliefs, people. As in, it is not a crime to believe something. As in, police should not be sent to his door just because of his opinion.

However, nobody has a right to have a national television spotlight on them. That's NOT in the constitution, I'm afraid. Nor do you have a right to be respected for your beliefs, or for people to not hate you for being a bigot.

This particular quote about black people isn't that bad at all. it's poorly worded, but doesn't strike me as particularly racist. His homophobic comments, however, were despicable, and when you have incorrect hateful beliefs, it's completely justified to remove your soapbox (tv show) from you and lose respect for you.

You people need to listen…he DID NOT SLAM HOMOSEXUALS… he correctly quoted a bible verse about ALL sinners, and included himself in that camp…I want to know why everyone is demanding tolerance from him but no one is being tolerant of his beliefs?
