Is Animal Planet's Call Of The Wildman Drugging And Killing Animals For Ratings??

Call of the Wildman may abuse animals

There are tons of nature reality shows out there.

And nature is unpredictable, and reality TV is super fake most of the time, so of course it'd make sense not every wild animal encounter on TV was actually that random, or wild.

Like on Animal Planet's show Call of the Wildman there are some disturbing reports claiming that the rescued animals are not only planted there by subcontracted handlers, drugs have even been used on them!

That's right, drugging animals just so they can be on TV easier!

A report by Mother Jones looking into the show said:

"Production sources told me that the zebra seemed woozy during filming; it could barely walk. Animal Planet and Sharp obtained the zebra from the Franklin Drive Thru Safari, an animal park run by a businessman named Jason Clay. In a phone interview, Clay confirmed that he supplied the zebra, but denied using sedatives. Clay is licensed under the federal regulations for animal exhibitors, which specify that "drugs, such as tranquilizers, shall not be used to facilitate, allow, or provide for public handling of the animals," and that handling of animals should not cause trauma, behavioral stress, physical harm, or unnecessary discomfort.

Despite Clay's denial, Animal Planet and Sharp confirmed to Mother Jones that the zebra was drugged before filming, but they say it happened behind their backs. However, Jamie and other sources say that the crew was aware of the zebra's sedation during filming, especially since the animal nearly fell over several times. "I heard about the zebra being almost unusable," says another source."

Wow! That's ridiculous!

So not only is the entire show just totally fake, but it may be illegal.

Three baby raccoons "rescued" through the show were so emaciated by the time they got to a wildlife center that one of them actually didn't survive! Because they weren't rescued, they were under the show's care for days before the episode! They needed immediate help and received nothing.

Something needs to be done about this show, like immediately!

Check out the video (below) to learn a little more about the show's cruelty!

This very same thing happened for the show Dirty Jobs. My husband used to rehabilitate birds who would land in a man made lake that a local mineral plant would pump nasty minerals in. The lake is disgusting and you do not want to fall in. The water would kill these birds very quickly. his job was to go and catch the birds when they landed in the lake, rehabilitate them, and then release them in a different area with fresh water. Dirty jobs did a segment about his job. Birds didn't land there often so they got impatient and his boss went and retrieved a bird my husband had rescued and she basically threw it in the water. They went and "rescued" the bird. I believe it died. later. She had to fix the papers to pretend they released the other bird and that this was a new bird. …the mineral plant did nothing when my husband complained. I'm just glad he wasn't there during the taping.

Everything is true. My sister lives in Kentucky and they filmed at one of her friend's homes. It's all fake and manipulated. Animals are "caught" and then turned loose so the turtleman can "catch" them, etc. etc. Animal Planet should be ashamed for airing such a horrible show! And those hillbilly pigs should be drawn and quartered.
