When it comes to conquering a fear, many people immerse themselves in their fear, facing it head on.
It's called exposure therapy and it's all about how repeated exposure to your fear and learning more about it, can help to desensitize you to it.
So, one daring arachnophobe took things to the extreme and had a giant spider tattooed on his face!
"Everybody fears spiders. That’s why I got it. Just to, like, make me know, that that’s what I fear, but not to fear it. You know what I’m saying?
Everybody looks at it like, ‘Damn spider’ ’cause if you’re going around your house, you know what I’m saying, you see those spiders, you’re going to jump, you’re going to jump, so putting one on my face. I say you know what I’m going to see what people think. Some people say ‘Why did you get it? You’re never going to get a job.'"
Oh… okay. We guess that helps clear things up.
But he doesn't answer the job question. Won't that affect his chances of getting a job?
Well, turns out he does landscaping and tile work so, according to him, he doesn't come face to face with too many people any way. Makes sense!
