A woman from Erie, Pennsylvania learned a life lesson the hard way… call firefighters to get cats out of trees or else you'll get stuck.
That's right, Tara Dennis, 21, said she and her neighbors had heard a cat crying for a few days from up a tree and decided to take matters into her own hands.
"I love animals. I couldn't let the cat stay up there."
So she decided to help the kitty out herself.
She climbed a fence, then up a garage to the roof and then hopped onto the first branch of the tree. After climbing an estimated 40-feet up, she found the cat and put it in her shirt. But then she had to get back down!
During her decent she reached a point where she just couldn't go any further. So her neighbor called 911 and in came the firefighters!
They brought out a giant ladder, carried the cat down then helped Tara to safety. Everyone got out of the tree okay, and Erie Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Carroll said:
"Normally, we recommend they just let animals come down by themselves."
Well that sounds like great advice.
Unless you have sharp claws and nine lives, we wouldn't recommend climbing trees!
Glad everything worked out in the end, the kitty was saved and the human is a-okay!!
We love happy endings.
