Private Citizen Confronts Police After They Broke The Law & Shot His 'Best Friend' Dead In The Head!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooWacky, Tacky & TrueLegal MattersSad Sad

When are police officers going to stop killing people’s pets?!

We know that the cops are there to protect us, but sometimes they end up doing more harm than good.

In Salt Lake City, 27-year-old Sean Kendall was called by police to tell him that a police officer trespassed into his backyard and shot his dog Geist. The cop was searching for a lost three-year-old, but still felt the need to enter a private citizen’s home, and shot the dog who lives there in the head.

Sean videoed his arrival at his house, and the officer who murdered the pup wasn’t there, but the men who were seemed anything but apologetic (below).

Now, Sean is looking for something to be done, and said:

"The only thing that I would be satisfied with is having this officer terminated. I feel that his judgment was completely inappropriate."

We can’t disagree with that, and believe it or not, that officer is still on duty!!!

Not only does every account of Geist paint him as a lovable doggy, but the policeman was also breaking the law! The very thing he’s supposed to uphold!

However, Sgt. Greg Wilking said:

"There are extenuating circumstances. A child is missing, and if you’re a parent, you would want us to look everywhere for your child. We wouldn’t want to leave any stone unturned."

It turns out, the toddler was in it’s own home, so maybe that should have been thoroughly searched BEFORE breaking the law and killing someone’s “best friend,” no?

Hopefully some good can come out of this though. Sean is asking the police department to train their officers to deal properly with animals, AND he wants a law to be passed that treats pets as family members. Because they ARE!

We are so heartbroken for Sean, who thought his sweet pup was safely at home, enjoying the day.

You can see the video of his confrontation (below)!

SAD! We should not be afraid of the police, but we are. This is like the case of the young man who was shot various times by a school cop at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. A badge does not mean instant power, and they are acting similarly, not caring about the family.

This monster officer would've never shot a child but felt completely fine in taking the life of a defenseless creature…what the fuck?!

I'd sue the shit out of them. Illegally trespassing + shooting the dog = law suit. If not I hope someone shoots the cop in the head.

Re: NookiesWA – officers have family members too and wishing for someone to be shot in the head is idiotic. Shooting an officer in the head is taking him away from his children. This dog is not being taken from his children. While it's unfortunate that the dog was killed, wishing murder on someone isn't helping anyone. Hopefully they trace your message and you are arrested for threats on a police officer. I believe the officer should be punished, but not murdered.

Americas general need for guns is hideous. So grosely disgusting that I have no intension of ever taking a trip to America to spend my money and invest in the country, simply because of their "love" for guns.
    It's out of control.
I truly believe the world should protest and countries should stop all access to America until they ban all guns to the general public and get a tight grip on specific use for those like police and hunters.
That policeman needed to request the owners presence to remove the animal safety to search the property.
Losing that gorgeous dog, I bet, is like losing a 3year old child to that man.

A real man doesn't need to kill an ordinary dog. Ever. Goonheads. There are dozens more stories like this lately. Knock it off! Pets are family members to people.

WEIMARANERS ARE THE BEST DOG A FAMILY OR A PERSON CAN EVER HAVE …THEY ARE BIG BUT HARMLESS. THEYRE GREAT WITH CHILDRENS, THEY NEED ATTENTION OF A HUMAN VERY SINGLE SECONF, THEY AR ELIKE HUMANS. I AM SO SORRY FOR GEIST AND SEAN….BECAUSE I OWNED A WEIMARNER. SHE IS 8 AND ACT LIKE SHE IS 1 YRS OLD. AN INTELLIGENT DOG AND A DOG U CAN TRUST WITH CLOSE EYES. SHAME ON THE POLICE AND RIP. THIS STORY IS LIKE 4 DAYS OLD.

Looking for a missing three year old child, does not give the police the right to come into someone's property and shoot their dog dead. They didn't even search correctly for the child in it's own home. This policeman should be fired immediately. He is a danger to everyone if he is that trigger happy. RIP Geist.

That police officer should be fired. I can't believe they him get away with it!

The confusion I am having is that the officer was concerned with finding a child and was searching backyards. He saw that there was a dog in this backyard, pretty far away from where he entered. If he felt threatened by the dog, why not quickly exit the yard and call the owner of the property to find out if he could come and let him into the yard safely or call animal control to subdue the dog during his search. This makes no sense at all. Why was he so sure that the child may have been in that backyard?

Cops will stop shooting pets right around the time they stop shooting innocent people. I would imagine it'll coincide with hell freezing over because a lot of cops are power hungry bullies with a badge and a gun. Definitely not saying they all are… however a few bad apples can spoil a pie.
