James Garcia, New York resident, had to face a cold hard fact of life recently: his dog was dying.
No matter how much we love our pups, eventually they get sick and old.
Well, James's dog, Elmo, was 16 when he was diagnosed with all sorts of doggy health problems, like liver cancer and kidney failure.
He'd only have a few months to live.
So James decided to take his dog on a photo adventure through N.Y.C., checking as many touristy locations off his bucket list as he possibly could.
He took his pup to get a pic with the Wall Street Bull, a street performing Sesame Street Elmo, in the subway, on the beach, you name it, Elmo (the dog) has been there.
"Soon after learning of Elmo's diagnosis, I felt it was important to share new experiences with him as well as share some of my favorite N.Y.C. hang out spots. This experience of sharing has helped me cope with his fate and created memories that will last a lifetime."
That's such a great idea!
His little pup can't really walk anymore, so James just pushes him around in a stroller and Elmo loves it!
That's seriously just so sweet, we can barely handle it.
We know Elmo's memory will live on forever!
