Viola Davis Is Honored With The Feminist #SeeHer Award At The Critics' Choice Awards — 'The Privilege Of A Lifetime Is Being Who You Are'

| Filed under: AwardzCritics' Choice AwardsViola Davis

We can't think of a more deserving actress!

On Sunday, the talented and inspirational Viola Davis was honored with the #SeeHer Award, a prize designed to highlight women dedicated to "advancing the movement to accurately portray women and girls in media". The honor comes on the heels of the 51-year-old's successful career in television and female-centric charity work.

Well, it sounds like the Critics' Choice Awards were right on the money. Ms. Davis has always been a role model for women and girls who wish to excel on talent and authenticity rather than their looks!

In the actress' acceptance speech, she poked fun at herself for trying to lose weight when she was first started out. Sadly, it's an all too common story.

After a lot of soul searching and confidence building, Viola finally came to a realization about her self-worth, revealing:

"… then I asked myself why do I have to do all that? The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are. I recently embraced that at fifty-one."

Well said, girl! Your beautiful soul shines in all you do!

So, what did YOU think of the celeb's speech?

Ryan Reynolds isn't just the Entertainer of the Year — he's also the Best Actor In A Comedy!

The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards honored the sexy star for his work in Deadpool.

Ryan dedicated his last award to cancer charities; this time he passed the honor onto screenwriters.

Not just Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who helped bring the foul-mouthed, fourth-wall-breaking superhero to life, but to all "undervalued" screenwriters everywhere.

And let's be frank, this may be our only shot — it's not like the Oscars are going to show Deadpool this kind of love…

Sarah Paulson & Amanda Peet Epitomize Easy Elegance At The Critics' Choice Awards

The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards: Sarah Paulson and Amanda Peet walk the red carpet.

These two look ready to have a fancy meetup at the Waldorf!

Sarah Paulson and Amanda Peet were exquisite ladies-who-lunch at the Critics' Choice Awards in LA Sunday in their stylish frocks.

We just ADORE Sarah's pearl-encrusted number with plain white peplum detail, but Amanda was fabulous herself in a pink A-line dress with abstract print.

Maybe they didn't go dramatic like some other stars, but they looked beautiful in their own right!

But, but where's Eleven?!

The boys of Stranger Things were too cute on the Critics' Choice Awards red carpet posing, well, like boys do for the flashing cameras!

Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, and Gaten Matarazzo all looked dapper besides being total goofballs, which we love.

Is anyone else as excited for season two as we are?? Netflix really struck gold with this bunch!

These UnReal stars clean up so nice!

Constance Zimmer and Shiri Appleby were all smiles at the Critics' Choice Awards, decked out in their Sunday's best!

Miz Zimmer looked like a sexy Bond villain with facial fringe and an extremely structured black gown. The keyhole was a flattering addition and took the dress from simple to spicy.

Her costar and counterpart chose Monique Lhuillier navy feathers and patterns which was pretty, but didn't have a wow factor. Shiri's glam was totally beautiful though!

Hello beauties!

Kerry Washington, Naomie Harris and Evan Rachel Wood came decked out in black for the Critics' Choice Awards – and their looks were sultry, sexy, and F-U-N!

A post baby Kerry had us starry-eyed with her short frock, showing off gams for days and sky high heeled sandals! Naomie followed her up with a sheer LBD and glowing skin. So good!

And — freeze all motor functions — Evan was super hot in an Altuzarra power suit and (not our fave) pointed heels. Perhaps HRC provided some inspo for her impeccably tailored outfit choice!?

Get it, ladies!
