Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan must have made up behind the scenes. Why else would they trust them with blunt instruments already??
On Thursday morning's LIVE!, the cohosts welcomed Captain America: Civil War star Robert Downey Jr. — and in honor of Cinco de Mayo they let him take a swing at a Captain America piñata!
But when Iron Man couldn't hit the sweet spot, he stepped aside for the formerly (?) feuding hosts.

There sure has been a lot of drama surrounding Michael Strahan leaving LIVE! with Kelly and Michael and Kelly Ripa feeling a bit pissed.
Even though there have been plenty of rumors about who might replace the former NFL player — including possibly bringing Regis Philbin back — there hasn't been a permanent replacement announced yet.

Seeing as how Strahan's last day is May 13 though, LIVE! is looking to have a few guest cohosts to fill in until they find a more long-term answer to their problem and they've announced who the first guest host will be!
The morning talk show took to Facebook to announce:
As we're sure you know, there's a WHOLE LOT of drama going on at LIVE! with Kelly and Michael ever since Michael Strahan announced he would be moving to Good Morning America.
Since then, there has been all kinds of chaos with Kelly Ripa being a bit pissed off, Strahan being pushed out a bit earlier than expected, and rumors of Andy Cohen, Anderson Cooper, Mario Lopez and EVEN Regis Philbin replacement cohosts.

Well the former NFLer attended the Met Gala on Monday night and talked with Entertainment Tonight about about all the drama and said people have "the wrong impression" about what went down during the meeting where Ripa found out!
The 44-year-old went on to dish on the controversy saying:
The good news is, the awkwardness won't go on too much longer…
Ever since Michael Strahan hit Kelly Ripa with a surprise left — that he was leaving LIVE! to permanently cohost Good Morning America — things haven't been totally smooth.
So it was probably a good call for ABC to go ahead and replace Michael now rather than all the way in September as initially planned.

Now that Michael Strahan is officially saying goodbye to LIVE! four months earlier than planned, the production doesn't have much time to find a replacement to host with Kelly Ripa.
Plenty of big names have been thrown out to fill the ABC morning program's soon-to-be-empty seat — Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, and even Mario Lopez have all been named potential successors.
But according to reports, another seasoned TV personality has been "approached" to replace Strahan — and we're talking about none other than Regis Philbin!

That's right! Sources told Page Six that the OG LIVE! anchor himself was entertaining the idea of returning to the long running daytime show.
An insider explained that the production reached out to Philbin's longtime agent Kenny DiCamillo to discuss the possibility of Reeg returning to his natural habitat, noting:
After Kelly Ripa's tense return to LIVE! last week, it was starting to look like Michael Strahan's remaining days on the morning program would be like a leftover cup of coffee — cold and bitter.
But after the longtime cohosts scored a Daytime Emmy Award over the weekend, the ironic win could be just what the doctor ordered for Kelly and Michael to go out on a high note!

Just weeks before Strahan early exit, the daytime duo walked out with their trophies for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host on Monday's show.
And probably because they were too distracted by other issues at hand, neither TV personality had any idea the award show was happening this weekend! Ripa told the audience:
