Ryan Gosling has been taking a whack at directing on his upcoming film, How to Catch a Monster, and though pictures have been popping up throughout the course of the production, we have yet to get a good look at the star working his magic behind the camera.

That is, until now…

A fan actually recorded a video of Ryan working away in Detroit on Tuesday! It looks like the star wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty.

Sure, RyGos is damn seksi and talented, but maybe Ed would have been able to give him a run for his money if only he had been a little older when they were casting The Notebook…

…well, that's a BIG maaaybe.

But his must-see reading isn't even the end of the awesomeness because a special guest joined him for the powerful scene!

Too bad we won't be seeing that BEAUTIFUL mug in the movie, but the hipster babe was prepping to direct a pleasantly shirtless Matt Smith.

Not a bad consolation prize, right???

And in case you were worried we'd never see the seXXXy leading man's turn as director, fear not!!!

We'll definitely be able to FEEL Ryan's presence in theaters because Warner Bros has acquired the flick for a guaranteed $3 million minimum

And we will FOR SURE find out WHY IN THE WORLD Matt was half nekkid and running around for the scene.

..not that we're complaining! LOLz!!!
