As police are currently figuring out the killer's motive, publications have reported that the shooting may have to do with The Voice contestant's Christian faith.
According to the Santa Monica Observer, authorities are investigating the singer's death as a hate crime after reviewing Loibl's cell phone and computer records. However, according to Orlando police spokesperson Wanda Miglio:

On Friday night, The Voice alum tragically lost her life when she was shot by Kevin Loibl after her show in Orlando, Florida.
Now, we're learning that the singer's killer had a history with violence.

Records reveal that, in the past, the cops had been called to Kevin's home at least twice for instances of battery. A police report shows they were called back in 2013 after he got in an altercation with his father's fiancée, Dawn.
Dawn told authorities that the Florida resident broke her wrist by slamming the door on her arm during an argument.
