Wendy Williams Subtly References Kevin Hunter Split On First Episode Of Her Show Since Divorce News

Wendy Williams has addressed her divorce… sort of!
The daytime diva acknowledged that she was going through “a situation” on Friday’s episode of The Wendy Williams Show, which was taped on Thursday, mere hours after she reportedly served divorce papers to her estranged husband Kevin Hunter.
While the TV host didn’t reveal what her “situation” was — she knows y’all already know! — the 54-year-old did explain how it was affecting her. Specifically, her feet.

She spilled:

“Honey, I have got a situation going on. We’ve got to get this show done quickly. My ankles and my feet are swelling as we speak. … This here is embarrassing.”

Don’t be embarrassed, gurl — it’s been a long week!
A day before Wendy marched up to her man, who still serves as an executive producer on her show, and handed him the papers, she officially filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.”
The divorce filing comes months after reports of drama plaguing the couple’s over 20 year marriage. As we reported, Wendy decided to move forward with the divorce after her husband confessed all of his alleged misdeeds to her earlier this year.

Those misdeeds likely include the fact that his alleged mistress, Sharina Hudson, was about to give birth to his reported love child and that he allegedly planned on juggling both Sharina and Wendy.
While the initial confession was said to have taken a toll on the TV personality — it was reportedly what triggered her relapse last month — the mother-of-one quickly became ready to detox herself from their marriage.

According to guests who attended Thursday’s taping, it felt more like “a party” than anything else. Audience member Carol Durham, who was at the second taping on Thursday, told Us Weekly:

“The show taping was wonderful. I had a great time; it was like a party.”

Sounds like Wendy’s doin’ alright after all!
Her staffers are also apparently ecstatic over the divorce news, as an insider explained to Us:

“Wendy has a huge support system comprised of her staff, industry colleagues and family. This could be the best thing that’s ever happened to her personally and professionally.”

Hunter, however, is a different story. He wasn’t in a particularly chatty mood after the news of his divorce broke, telling Radar dismissively:

“This just happened. Not speaking now.”

Meanwhile, Wendy is officially without her wedding ring on air — something she told fans would signal when she was done with Big Kev for good — and is standing on her own two feet, regardless of how swollen they may be.
