Erykah Badu Defends JFK-Inspired Video

Erykah Badu showed a video for her single Window Seat and it’s definitely sparked some controversy. The singer takes off her clothes along Dallas’s Dealey Plaza and feigns being shot in the head. She falls to the ground exactly where JFK was assassinated.

She took to her Twitter to set the record straight.

Erykah said:

“I would never disrespect JFK. his revolutionary thinking is my inspiration. my performance art has been grossly misinterpreted by many.”

Yet she gave a pretty vivid play-by-play on the shoot, which makes it sound like she was pushing the limit.

She Tweeted:

“There were children there. i prayed they wouldnt b traumatized.”

“yelling, THIS IS A PUBLIC PLACE : YOU OUGHTA BE ASHAMED : PUT YOUR CLOTHES ON : DAMN GIRL! etc…”

Do U think she took it too far?!
