National Science Foundation Gives NY Theater Company $700k To Produce Play On Climate Change

national science foundation spends 700 thousand on climate change play

Looks like the National Science Foundation is having issues figuring out the best ways to not waste hundreds of thousands of dollars spend their money.

The NSF has awarded a $700,000 grant to New York theater company The Civilians, to produce a play about climate change.

$700,000?!?!?!? There’s gotta be a better way to get the word out there.

The ridiculous sum of money will be used to finance The Great Immensity, with a book by Steven Cosson and music & lyrics by Michael Friedman.

The story is about a photojournalist, Polly, who goes missing while at work in the rainforest in Panama.

This is certainly an important issue and we’re glad it’s being addressed…but there’s gotta be better ways to appropriate those funds!

Words and phrases like RESEARCH and PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS come to mind.
