WTF PBS?!?!? Tina Fey Censored!

pbs edits tina fey broadcast

Not cool, PBS. Seriously.

PBS aired a broadcast of Tina Fey’s acceptance of her Mark Twain award at the Kennedy Center, but they edited her speech!

During the speech, Tina Fey said the following about Sarah Palin, which was edited out of the broadcast:

“And, you know, politics aside, the success of Sarah Palin and women like her is good for all women – except, of course –those who will end up, you know, like, paying for their own rape ‘kit ‘n’ stuff, but for everybody else, it’s a win-win. Unless you’re a gay woman who wants to marry your partner of 20 years – whatever. But for most women, the success of conservative women is good for all of us. Unless you believe in evolution. You know – actually, I take it back. The whole thing’s a disaster.”

Here’s what was included in the broadcast as far as Tina’s Palin-related comments are concerned:

“I would be a liar and an idiot if I didn’t thank Sarah Palin for helping get me here tonight. My partial resemblance and her crazy voice are the two luckiest things that ever happened to me. All kidding aside, I’m so proud to represent American humor, I am proud to be an American, and I am proud to make my home in the ‘not real’ America. And I am most proud that during trying times, like an orange [terror] alert, a bad economy or a contentious election that we as a nation retain our sense of humor.”

Here’s what an executive producer on the show, Peter Kaminsky, had to say about the edited broadcast:

“It was not a political decision. We had zero problems with anything she said.”

More from Kaminsky:

├óΓé¼┼ôWe took a lot out. We snipped from everyone.”

You SAY you snipped from everyone, but it’s shady inneresting that comments Tina Fey made about Palin that could be viewed as positive ones were kept in the broadcast.

Smells a little political to us, PBS. Just sayin’!

What do U think about the edits done to Tina Fey’s broadcast? “Time Restraints” or Political?
