Money talk$!

TV veteran Craig T. Nelson admits passing on the role of Jay, played by Ed O’Neill, in ABC’s hit show Modern Family.

When Craig was asked if he turned down the role because he already had the part on Parenthood, he responded, “No. Money.”

He adds:

“I├óΓé¼Γäóm old enough to say it, I guess. That was it. I really wanted to do Modern Family and I really liked the script and I liked the people. I just said, ‘You know what? I├óΓé¼Γäóve been doing this too long.’ We├óΓé¼Γäóre in the middle of a cutback here, ladies and gentlemen, in Hollywood and salaries have gone way, way down. I just felt disrespected to tell you the truth.”

Didn’t he save his Coach money??

Ed O’Neill got the better deal….He got the bigger hit!

Honestly though, we’re glad Craig passed up Modern Family because we couldn’t even imagine the show without Ed!

Hope Parenthood doesn’t get canceled because that would be a major boo-boo on your part, Craig!
