In order to lose weight, you have to REALLY want to lose weight. Aretha Franklin admits although trying to lose weight most of her life, she “didn├óΓé¼Γäót know how to lose weight.├óΓé¼┬¥
Recently, the singer has begun an incredible transformation and lost 85 pounds, leaving people to speculate that she may have surgery to thank.
In actuality, she should be thanking an embarrassing accident! In an interview, Aretha revealed that she BROKE an exercise machine at her heaviest, which spurred the revaluation that she was “just to heavy.”
She explained the accident, saying:
├óΓé¼┼ôI had a Power Rider that I used for exercise and I actually broke it ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ I was that heavy. I didn├óΓé¼Γäót know how to lose weight.├óΓé¼┬¥
Besides the actual epiphany to R-E-S-P-E-C-T her body, the singer credits good old fashioned healthy exercise for her weight loss, saying:
├óΓé¼┼ôI├óΓé¼Γäóm on the track at least three times a week, and the treadmill. I├óΓé¼Γäóm up to about 26 minutes on the treadmill and a mile and a half on the track. I haven├óΓé¼Γäót worked up to a run yet; it├óΓé¼Γäós more like a slow trot.├óΓé¼┬¥
Trot or not, we’re ecstatic that she was able to focus on the positive after her embarrassing fitness accident, instead of focusing on the negative.
