Kirsten Dunst Talks Rehab And Depression

Kirsten Dunst has been through some ups and downs, but it looks like the actress is back on top. She’s opening up about experiencing depression in her late twenties and her 2008 stint in rehab to deal with mental issues.

She says:

“Who you are at 25 and who you are at 29 is a very different thing. For me it feels like a 20-year age gap.

I have experienced depression, Many people have. Mine was caused by a few things. I felt a lot of stress from all these different areas ├óΓé¼┬ª”

Kirsten is currently starring in the Lars von Trier film Melancholia where she plays a character who is battling depression. Speaking about the role, she says:

“I brought my own slant [to the role] but I am very much portraying Lars├óΓé¼Γäós experience of depression. We met before I did the movie and talked about how the light goes out of your eyes. People don├óΓé¼Γäót talk about depression, so for me it was really amazing that this was going to be portrayed.”

Kudos to you, Kirsten, for being so honest about depression. Seems like things are on the up and up for you though. We hope it stays that way.
