There is no denying it anymore. Ultimate Fighting Championship has become a legitimate sport in American culture and thanks to FOX, it’s no longer going to cost fans $50 bucks to watch it!
For the first time ever, the heavyweight championship fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos will be broadcast on network television this Saturday night.
UFC holds 15 events each year that are usually reserved for pay-per-view only, but the president of Fox Sports is hoping to cash in on the sport’s growing popularity, explaining:
“This is the fastest-growing sport in the world. It’s hard to find anyone under the age of 35 who doesn’t know about the U.F.C.”
Lorenzo Fertitta, the U.F.C.├óΓé¼Γäós chief executive, hopes this freebie — along with 4 more scheduled for next year — will only add to the 500,000 faithful UFC customers regularly ordering fights.
Considering WWE wrestling has been around for 3 decades now, we have a feeling UFC isn’t going anywhere!
