Puppy Mill Dogs No Longer Sold On Facebook Marketplace Thanks To ASPCA

The ASPCA had several concerns about Facebook Marketplace being used to sell puppies who were raised in puppy mills.

So Facebook listened and will no longer allow puppy mill dogs to be sold via Marketplace.

So now all the ads are coming down.

The ASPCA’s president and CEO said:

“Removing an online platform for the cruel puppy mill industry sets a positive example of corporate citizenship and will help improve the lives of countless dogs.

Most consumers are unaware they are perpetuating animal cruelty by purchasing a puppy online, and given the visibility of Marketplace on Facebook, this move has the potential to raise critical awareness about unscrupulous online breeders.”

The ASPCA’s “No Pet Store Puppies” campaign helped to raise awareness and sway customers to not buy dogs online.

They often are unhealthy, forcing the owner to pay tons in vet bills.
