Orphaned Manatee Saved By Brazilian Conservation Group!

Way to go, Friends of the Manatee (btdubs…perfect name for the occasion!)

The conservation group rescued a baby manatee near the body of his mother in the Amazon.

Caretakers are taking care of the baybay, keeping him healthy and preparing to return him back to the wild.

Many manatee calves are left orphaned after their mothers are either poached or starved from overfishing. It’s good to see another baby rescued!

The baby manatee will be sent to an aquatic facility until it is mature enough to go home.
