It may seem like she has so much going for her now, but she still bares the scars of her youth. She said:
“I grew up on the road with my father…but I came from a very small village, where everyone called me ‘Kelly Smelly with the Big Belly Whose Dad’s on the Telly.’
I call myself a FFP: former fat person. And when you’re an FFP, you will always see in yourself what people used to bully you for.”
So even after her time back in 2009 on DWTS when she dropped a ton of weight she still had to work hard to start to love her body.
The easiest way to start? Tune out the worst critics.
“If you├óΓé¼Γäóre still hanging around people who are going to put you down, you need to stop and reevaluate your friends and move on. You don├óΓé¼Γäót need those kinds of people in your life.”
So even though she’s felt the sting of bullying, that didn’t stop her from calling Christina Aguilera “fat” during a segment of her show Fashion Police.
She tried to justify her statement, saying:
“She called me fat for years. One night…I said, ‘F–k you. Now you’re fat too.’ I didn’t say I wasn’t fat. I said, ‘Now you know how it feels.’ And I’m sorry, but I stand by that.”
We understand how truly awful it is to be bullied, so we can’t really condone the bullying of others.
We think they’re both beautiful and should kiss and make up!
