No one is denying the freshman’s credentials for the scholarship since he was a straight A student in high school and is apparently a wicked good football player.
The problem for many people is that only a few amount of students receive full scholarships, and any son of P Diddy can afford college, no question.
Is it wrong to give a scholarship to someone who doesn’t necessarily need it especially since that means some other, possibly more, needy student won’t receive one?
Here’s what one educational expert said:
“He’s done what he needs to do to be successful and in ‘Ameritocracy’ we have to accept that no matter who your father is, whether he be rich, poor or absent, that you can in fact be successful on your own merit.”
That’s totally true. The kid definitely earned it fair and square. We shouldn’t be mad at him for doing the right things.
Now, the schools on the other hand. That’s a different story…
