A federal judge just upheld a ruling that continues to block a state law that would shut down Mississippi’s only abortion clinic.
The U.S. supreme court ruled that states can place undue burdens or substantial obstacles to women seeking abortions.
We guess the judge found that shutting down the only abortion clinic in a 200-mile radius might count as a substantial obstacle.
The problem the clinic has been having is getting hospitals to give them admitting privileges.
The hospitals just aren’t responding or are purposefully stalling.
Either way, the clinic will hopefully stay open until those issues are resolved.
Good call, judge!
