Queen Madge, could these blasphemous accusations be true!?
We daren’t believe it!! But even so…
A company based out of Delaware called VMG is suing Madonna and her record label over FAMED 1990 mega-hit Vogue, claiming Madgeness and her producer unlawfully sampled the horn and string medley from their 1977 tune Love Break.
VMG states in the suit:
“The portions of “Love Break, which have been copied into Vogue and all its various “mixes,” “remixes” videos, YouTube versions, etc. are numerous but intentionally hidden. The horn and strings in Vogue are intentionally sampled from “Love Break” throughout…
The unauthorized sampling was deliberately hidden by [Madonna] within “Vogue” so as to avoid detection. It was only when VMG specifically looked for the sample, with the technology available to it in 2011, that the sampling could be confirmed.”
The company has also revealed that Music producer Richard “Shep” Pettibone, who worked on Vogue with Madonna, was originally hired by VMG to remix versions of Love Break…
VMG is seeking damages as well as the $$$ Madge made off Vogue AND its various remixes.
And obviously, that is a sh*tload of dollahs!
It may make no difference if you’re black, white, boy OR girl, and even if you ARE a superstar, you can’t go around stealing other people’s jamz and sell them as your own!
Oh, we HOPE these claims are false, Madgey! Or how will we ever Vogue the same way again?!
